FileYourTaxes.com Zero Cost offers tax professionals the ability to use tax software without having to to pre-pay for the use of the software for their refund clients. The system is designed for tax professionals who process bank products for all or most of their client returns. The fees for the use of the system is a fixed bank product fee that is included in the bank product fees. The fixed fee is $14.50 per client.
With FileYourTaxes.com Zero Cost, the account has "floating" units. Units are debited for each return that is started. Once a bank product is funded, the units for that client are released back into the float for additional returns to be started. For balance due returns, or returns without a bank product, you will need to purchase units at the Pay-Per-Return price. Floating units cannot be used for balance due or non-bank product returns.
For example if you registered for Zero Cost 10, you would have 10 floating units initially. If you began a federal return for a client, you would debit one of your units and have 9 units remaining. Once complete, the return will be eFiled and accepted by the IRS. Once the bank funds the bank product, the unit will be released and you will again have 10 units.
If you have 0 units because all your returns are awaiting bank funding, you will not be able to begin additional returns until the units are released or you purchase additional units at the Pay-Per-Return price.
